Newfound Colors – The true life story of artist Xandria Maurer
PHILANTHROPY
Art becomes even more meaningful when it helps others—through her philanthropy, Xandria uses her work to support healing, hope, and stronger communities.
Phil Vassar’s Nashville Benefit
Xandria’s painting, Heartbeat of the Mountains, raised $6,000 at a private benefit hosted at Phil Vassar’s Nashville estate in support of Vanderbilt emergency medical care. Featuring country music artists John Anderson and Trace Adkins, the evening brought together art, music, and a shared commitment to giving back sponsored by Velvet Rope Collective.
Among those in attendance was Dr. Mary Kate Jordan, the emergency physician who helped save Phil’s life. Her presence underscored the purpose of the gathering and the extraordinary work of those who care for people during their most critical moments.
As a heart attack survivor herself, Xandria felt a personal connection to the evening’s mission. Contributing her artwork was an opportunity to honor lifesaving care and help extend that care to others. As she expressed it, “When you have the opportunity to give back to others when your own life has been truly blessed, you consider it an honor.”

WVU Cancer Gala
Xandria’s commissioned painting, After the Rain, raised $5,500 at the April 2026 WVU Cancer Gala, held at Nemacolin Resort, where she is a frequent Artist in Residence. The evening brought together her commitment to helping others and her connection to a place that has become a meaningful part of her artistic journey.
After the Rain depicts water rushing through a forest as the landscape begins to grow again. Its imagery speaks to renewal, resilience, and the life that emerges after a storm—a message of hope especially meaningful for an event supporting cancer care.
As a West Virginia artist whose work is collected internationally, Xandria values opportunities to give back to her home state. Through this contribution, she shared both her artwork and a message of renewal while helping raise funds for a cause that touches patients and families throughout the region.
